  • Directions.  The Commonwealth Medical College’s main campus in Scranton is located at 525 Pine Street in Scranton.  See map of parking areas by clicking hereLots C and D will be open at 8:00am and closed at 9:30am – after that attendees will need  to find street parking.   If anyone has a physical handicap and needs parking close they need to send an email to karscott@tcmc.edu to request a special parking place. These lots are 1 ½ - 2 blocks away. Enter the building on Pine Street.

 

 

Program Objectives


At the end of this faculty development program, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify links among Interprofessional Education (IPE), supportive teamwork environments, and interprofessional collaborative practice (ICP)
  • Describe an approach to developing IPE that supports teamwork and ICP
  • Assess IPE teamwork competency as it relates to ICP
  • Define effective communication and describe how communication affects team processes and outcomes
  • Analyze situations and identify the communication challenges
  • Practice TeamSTEPPS tools and strategies that can improve a team’s communication
  • Explore ways to use the exercises in your own institution

Pharmacy:
The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University is accredited  by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  Participants who attend the full program and complete an evaluation form will be awarded a statement of credit at the conclusion of the program for .30 CEUs (3 hours).  ACPE #

Nursing:
Wilkes University is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.  Nurses who attend will receive a certificate for 3 hours at the conclusion of the program.
